A watchmaking trilogy : Red – Green - Blue
Les Ateliers Louis Moinet have adopted the universal language of colour to create IMPULSION RGB, an exclusive trilogy of three unique timepieces.
Each watch features a chronograph with a dial-side mechanism and the magic of a flying tourbillon; and each celebrates one of the primary colours of light: red, green, or blue.

The heart of IMPULSION
Les Ateliers Louis Moinet chose the RGB concept to create three unique IMPULSION timepieces that freely explore these colours within the same virtuosic mechanics.
The chosen hue, whether red, green, or blue, appears on the dial side of the chronograph plate, serving as the visual anchor for the entire watch. This chromatic signature continues on the central chronograph seconds hand, the hands of the totalisers, and the small arrow on the flying tourbillon cage. An alligator leather strap in the corresponding colour, accented with black topstitching, completes the ensemble.
A 5N gold tone with a polished finish forms the backdrop behind the tourbillon cage, drawing attention to the surrounding components. This luminous signature is common to all three IMPULSION RGB timepieces and creates a vivid contrast with the colour of the plates.
With IMPULSION RGB, Les Ateliers Louis Moinet has created three true masterpieces, each highlighting its own colour and delivering on the promise of a “show on your wrist”.
Chronograph with a Flying Tourbillon
IMPULSION RGB pays tribute to the founding fathers of modern watchmaking, Abraham-Louis Breguet and Louis Moinet, inventors of the tourbillon and the chronograph respectively. It unites a fully exposed chronograph mechanism with the captivating presence of a flying tourbillon.
This IMPULSION RGB timepiece is powered by an in-house calibre, designed and assembled by Louis Moinet’s watchmakers in their workshops in Les Breuleux. At the heart of the chronograph, a column wheel precisely governs the start, stop, and reset functions, all controlled by a single push-button. This mechanical ballet is enhanced by the ethereal motion of the flying tourbillon, whose off-centre cage completes one rotation per minute.
The movement is hand-wound and equipped with double barrels, providing an ample 96-hour power reserve.

Incorporating the tourbillon required significant innovations
for example, in terms of energy creation:
The ”volte-face” double spring barrel
To ensure sufficient energy, the automatic winding system had to be replaced by a manual double-barrel winding system. The system is called "volte-face" because the two barrels are arranged upside down in series. They release their energy at the same time, delivering a power reserve of ninety-six hours.
Technical and aesthetic outcome
The three-dimensional architecture of the two powerful mechanisms is expressed on the wrist thanks to the high-end finishing by Louis Moinet craftsmen in collaboration with our traditional partner Concepto. The watch is assembled in our own workshops in Les Breuleux, in the Swiss Jura Mountains. It is signed Moinet, independent watchmaker.
A sculptural case
With a diameter of 42.5 mm, the IMPULSION case immediately asserts its bold character.
Its sculpted silhouette, sharp lines, and openworked areas give it a distinctly dynamic presence, evoking a work of art that is both technically and aesthetically compelling. Its construction is based on a sophisticated chassis that combines an 18-carat red gold outer case with a black-tinted grade 5 titanium core, visible through the side openings.
The alternation of polished, satin-brushed, and micro-bead-blasted surfaces creates dramatic plays of light and strong contrasts, underscoring the full power of the design.
Dedicated presentation boxes
Each IMPULSION RGB piece is presented in its own box, covered in slightly grained leather in the colour corresponding to the watch inside. This vivid hue frames a central insert whose surface evokes the look of carbon fibre.
The box pays elegant tribute to Louis Moinet himself. Its design is inspired by the original Traité de l’Horlogerie, a seminal reference work written by the great French watchmaker, one of the founding fathers of modern horology.
