An exceptional work of art, designed for collectors in search of watchmaking rarity.
The MEMORIS calibre
The MEMORIS is a calibre created to celebrate Louis Moinet’s invention of the chronograph in 1816. Its construction places the chronograph front and centre, raising it beyond a mere function to an aesthetic and technical focal point of the watch. On the dial side, the chronograph mechanism is fully visible, unfolding as a genuine mechanical spectacle, precisely orchestrated by the column wheel. This exceptional calibre pays tribute to the visionary legacy of the great watchmaker and boldly expresses his avant-garde spirit.

A hand-engraved signature case
The ORIGINAL case, which has become a hallmark of Les Ateliers Louis Moinet, has been fully hand-engraved for this unique piece. It measures 46 millimetres in diameter and has been crafted from 18-carat white gold. The complex architecture was conceived as a way to highlight every detail.
Each element has a distinctive, instantly recognizable style, from the profiled bezel secured by six screws and the openworked lugs adorned with screw-mounted chatons, to the crown featuring a fleur de lys, and a clous-de-Paris-pattern on the pusher.
But it is the extensive engraving that truly makes this piece unique. The case, bezel, and chronograph bridge, in short, every surface, is meticulously hand-engraved with an exclusive design. Scrolls, foliage, and interlacing patterns wind their way across the metal, rendered with the utmost precision.
This intricate motif is the result of countless hours of work, demanding exceptional dexterity and stringent focus. Each groove cut by the chisel reflects the confidence of an experienced hand and the keen eye of an expert.
The engraving catches the light, creating shifting shadows and reflections. It gives the metal a living texture, revealing its depth and detail with the slightest movement of the wrist.
A straw dial
The dial of this unique MEMORIS ORIGINAL features straw marquetry, a craft that is rooted in a long and highly specialised artistic tradition.
Each carefully dyed strand of rye straw is cut and applied individually until the dial is fully covered. The artisan arranges each fibre to make the most of the straw’s natural reflective properties, creating a distinct composition with the light.
The result is a precise, harmonious pattern whose striking visual impact echoes the case engraving and the graphic identity of the timepiece.
