Les Ateliers Louis Moinet are celebrating the Year of the Fire Horse with the TOURBILLON PUZZLE FIRE HORSE, a timepiece featuring the special métier d’art technique of micro-painting on a puzzle dial.

The project was inspired by the Fire Horse from Chinese astrology, which is celebrated once every sixty years as a symbol of power and daring. On the dial, the horse appears to be in the midst of an exultant gallop. Its mouth is open in a moment of triumph, its head is slightly thrown back. The horse seems propelled by the momentum of its movement. The mane, which seems to flow wildly in the wind, prolongs this dynamism and amplifies the sense of power.

This vision takes shape through the miniature painting crafted by hand by master dial artisans. Through micro-painting, they reveal the Fire Horse on a genuine jigsaw puzzle as the dial’s decorative foundation. The latter is a métier d’art in which Les Ateliers Louis Moinet excel and have achieved worldwide acclaim. Composed of 81 pieces arranged over four levels, the puzzle demonstrates the complexity and refinement of this specific craft.
