The 1816 chronograph exhibited in Geneva

The 1816 Chronograph, nominated in the Chronograph category of the 2025 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, continues its journey after Shanghai and Istanbul. This new timepiece will now be proudly exhibited until 16 November at the Art and History Museum in Geneva.

The 1816 Chronograph refers to the year Louis Moinet created the world’s first chronograph. This timepiece reimagines this historic achievement through a contemporary lens. Its distinctive architecture, inspired by the original model, houses a bespoke movement of 330 components featuring an instantaneous minute counter, column-wheel mechanism, and swan-neck regulator — an especially refined expression of pure haute horlogerie.
