Lifetime Gala Award 2025

A first distinction for the 1806 CHRONOMÈTRE D’OBSERVATOIRE!

Last night in Geneva, Louis Moinet’s new 1806 CHRONOMÈTRE D’OBSERVATOIRE timepiece received a Lifetime Gala Award 2025 from Lifetime Magazine and its founder Raluca Michailov.
Unveiled during Geneva Watch Days, the 1806 CHRONOMÈTRE D’OBSERVATOIRE pays tribute to watchmaker Louis Moinet, whose pursuit of precision laid the foundations of modern chronometry.

The 1806, certified as an Observatory Chronometer, continues the tradition of precision competitions that shaped watchmaking in the 19th century. With its deep historical roots and contemporary design, this timepiece unites excellent chronometry with the aesthetic codes of the first chronograph in history. It retains the Directoire-style semi-bassine case with double gadroon and many refined details, such as the blued steel hands and screws. The name Louis Moinet is printed on the dial in its original typography.

This distinction, awarded just two months ago after its unveiling, confirms the strong resonance of the 1806 CHRONOMÈTRE D’OBSERVATOIRE, a creation embodying a legacy woven over more than two centuries. It also heralds a promising future for this fine timepiece.
